Bakersfield College (BC) is a public community college in northeast Bakersfield atop the “Panorama Bluffs,” which overlook the rich Kern River oil production. BC provides associate degrees, certificate programs, and bachelor’s degrees to around 22,000 students each semester. It was established in 1913. The Renegades are the college’s athletic teams, and the school colors are red and black. The knight serves as the team’s mascot. Notable alumni include Brandon Banks, Robert Beltran, Ric Drasin, Jean Fuller and others.
