Bakersfield Community Theater (BCT) is California’s oldest continuously operating community theater. The theater, which was formally founded in 1927 and has subsequently undergone a number of renovations, can currently accommodate 181 people. Each theater season, Bakersfield Community Theater continues to put on five main plays (along with a yearly one-act festival and countless youth theater productions). Since 1927, the theater has continuously produced seasons. Musicals (Kiss Me Kate, Babes In Arms, Sound Of Music), dramas (The Miracle, Deathtrap, The Gin Game), and comedies (Barefoot In The Park, Noises Off, Cactus Flower) are just a few of the performances that took place there.
